A Short History of “The Boss”

The Onion A.V. Club has a great overview of Bruce Springsteen’s musical career. Considering I’m the type of nerd who turns Springsteen lyrics into poems, I totally dug this article. Especially considering that I’ve wanted to write something similar for a while.

But my gripes with it include a general dismissal of Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J., an album which I like to think of as earnest attempt at Rock greatness by a young artist. Also, The Wild, The Innocent and The E Street Shuffle, my favorite Springsteen album, doesn’t get enough praise (which is pretty standard for rock critics).

Otherwise it’s a great, thorough article that even includes full length versions(!) of selected songs.
