A Lengthy Wikipedia entry on the word “Thou”

“Thou” is today’s Wikipedia Fetatured Article. The word thou (pronounced IPA [ðaʊ]) is a second person singular pronoun in English. It is now largely archaic, having been replaced in almost all contexts by “you”. Thou is the nominative form; the oblique/objective form is thee (functioning as both accusative and dative), and the possessive is thy [...]

Another claw machine wonder

I’ve had my eye on this for a while and I finally won it. The Dwight D. Eisenhower plush toy! Just what every child wants to sleep with at night! Ready to define the military industrial complex at a moment’s notice! Sugar Loaf, the company that makes this thing, also offers 12 other presidents including [...]

I made this.

Actually, I just strategically painted, melted and sanded it. It’s Marvel Comics’ Thor from the Marvel Zombies miniseries. It’s very detailed and very true to Sean Philips art style in the comics. You should really go buy it. (I’m broke.)

BoingBoing.net Likes My Brother’s Cookies.

I logged into Flickr today and had 2,500 views of this picture. Blew my mind. It was because I sent word of these cookies to Boingboing the other day after they posted news of Japanese chocolate burgers. Apparently Mr. Cory Doctorow likes chocolate mushrooms as he posted a link to my thumbs. BB link featuring [...]

Ceci n’est pas un Stewie.

I’ve been mildly enamored with this thing since I saw it. I finally got one out of the claw machine in Athens, GA’s Alps Road Kroger. Sweet Jesus, is it awful!

I think I have a total of five votes across three entries so there’s not really any hope for me to win “The People’s Choice.” But if you’d like, go vote before June 19 [...]

Sweet Sci-fi/ Horror Collectible Cards

Breygent Marketing’s Classic Sci-fi & Horror Poster Collectible Cards are pretty freakin’ sweet. They’re 3.5″ x 5″, larger than a standard baseball card so you can soak in all the old poster art goodness. I was fortunate enough to get a The Day the Earth Stood Still chase card. There are also autographed chase cards, [...]

Bye-bye Sci-fi.

SciFi.com is gutting annihilating their archive of science fiction stories. As of Friday, June 15, 2007, SCI FICTION will no longer be available on SCIFI.COM. SCIFI.COM would like to thank all those who contributed and those who read the short stories over the past few years. Get it while it’s extant. Link via BoingBoing via [...]

My keys.

Due to my various psychoses and nueroses, a large, colorful chunk of plastic helps me deal with keys. So, I made this keychain yesterday. I’m a pretty proud that I found a use for those too-cute Marvel toys. Here’s Cap for sale on eBay. I also figured out why I was mistaken about the fourth [...]

npr.

The March 26 edition of This American Life was quite good. It was about mean people. I was never popular so I found it interesting to hear that popular people are different. Mean in fact. This coming from high school girls. Likely the smart ones. Fact. New editions of This American Life are freely available [...]
